Bruce Springsteen, il nuovo album è ‘Wrecking ball’ 15 gen 2012 - Sarebbe “Wrecking ball” il titolo del nuovo album di Bruce Springsteen, previsto in pubblicazione in Italia il prossimo 6 marzo. Prodotto da Ron Aniello, che recentemente si era occupato anche dell’album della sua signora, Patti Scialfa, il nuovo album del Boss sarà preceduto in gennaio dal primo singolo, “We take care of our own”. I boatos delle ultime ore avevano già preannunciato il prossimo come il disco “più arrabbiato” di Springsteen e “Wrecking ball” (‘palla da demolizione’), che è anche il titolo del brano rivelato al pubblico durante la striscia di concerti tenuta dalla band in New Jersey nell’ottobre 2009, scritto in celebrazione del Giant Stadium e poi pubblicato come maxi singolo in vinile (qui il testo), rende l’idea. Altri nuovi brani sono “Jack of all trades”, “Easy money”, “We are alive” e “You’ve got it”, cui si aggiunge una versione del semi-inedito “Land of hopes and dreams”, che incorpora un assolo di sax del compianto Clarence Clemons, prelevato direttamente da un’esibizione live tratta dall’ultimo tour con la E Street Band in cui la canzone era stata ripetutamente suonata, per poi fare la propria comparsa in “Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band: Live in New York City”.

E' una cattiva traduzione... l'Holliwood reporter dice, riportando il giudizio di uno dei pochi addetti delle case discografiche che lo hanno sentito, che "it's a wrecking ball of an album", che vuol dire letteralmente che "tira giu' i muri",m molto rock ma con texture sonore nuove che si rifanno all'hip hop e all'Irish folk; per quanto riguarda i contenuti, ci sono chiari riferimenti al disastro economico globale

...un album davvero ROCK! peccato non sia la E STREET BAND al completo a suonare visto che che tra chitarre, tastiere, batteria e, purtroppo sax, ci siano vari musicisti...ma almeno dal vivo sarà la vera E STREET BAND....o quasi......

In effetti e' nel trafiletto di Backstreets che fa riferimento all'articolo dell HR, ed e' probabile fonte per i vari siti di news musicali italiani.

Judging by this earwitness account, it's a wrecking ball of an album: "He gets into economic justice quite a bit. It's very rock 'n' roll. He feels it's the angriest album he's ever made. Bear in mind, though, that [Springsteen] wrote and recorded the majority of the album before the Occupy movements started, so he's not just setting headlines to music."

Sonically, look for "unexpected textures — loops, electronic percussion," according to the source, "an amazing sweep of influences and rhythms, from hip-hop to Irish folk rhythms." The Hollywood Reporter also confirms that the album was produced by Ron Aniello.

Bruce Springsteen Returns With Wild New Album
Sonically experimental 17th studio LP tackles political, spiritual themes

Bruce Springsteen is close to announcing his 17th studio album and a U.S. tour with the E Street Band. Springsteen's manager Jon Landau tells Rolling Stone that the record is an ambitious "big-picture piece of work. It's a rock record that combines elements of both Bruce's classic sound and his Seeger Sessions experience, with new textures and styles." Music was played for Sony recently, according to The Hollywood Reporter, whose source described the songs as having "unexpected textures – loops, electronic percussion... influences and rhythms from hip-hop to Irish folk rhythms."

The disc was produced by Ron Aniello, who has previously worked on albums by Candlebox, Jars of Clay and the last LP by Springsteen's wife, Patti Scialfa. Members of the E Street Band play on the album, along with a variety of outside musicians, including Tom Morello and possibly former Pearl Jam drummer Matt Chamberlain, who has often recorded on Aniello's projects. "It was an experimental effort with a new producer," says Landau. "Bruce and Ron used a wide variety of players to create something that both rocks and is very fresh."

According to Landau, the record has "social overtones" – although it was largely written before Occupy Wall Street began and doesn't directly address the movement. The LP also has a "very pronounced spiritual dimension," adds Landau. "It extends and deepens the vision that has animated all of Bruce's work." According to The Hollywood Reporter's source, "[Bruce] gets into economic justice quite a bit. He feels it's the angriest album he's ever made."

The E Street Band will spend most of 2012 on the road, including spring and fall U.S. runs and a summer European tour. Dates haven't been announced, but concert-business sources tell Rolling Stone the band has arenas booked starting in March, including an Austin show around Springsteen's March 15th keynote address at the South by Southwest festival. One big question is how the group will address last summer's death of saxophonist Clarence Clemons, Springsteen's onstage foil for four decades.
